3. The Revival

DOWNTOWN.   Family coffee shop by day and concert venue by night, The Revival is a multipurpose spot representing the literal and figurative renewal of its predecessor, Java Joint, which closed in 2007. Located directly across the street from the old location, The Revival features a new location and a new vision but still sports some of Java Joint's old accoutrements, including the drink machines and many menu items. Though they plan to welcome touring bands, The Revival remains dedicated to promoting local music as well.   (© 10Best)

As a java joint it is only OK, but it's main downside is a hourd of chain smokers much like you would find in some skid row bar. I found the atmosphere to be so thick with smoke that I couldn't stay.

Awesome place to go. Even though it is supposed to close at 11 most of the time it is open until midnight. Was there last night (7.20.05) and had a great time. All ages are made to feel welcome and people from different backgrounds as well. Local Cds are sold ranging from $5-25 dollars.
