This massive antenna works with nine others around the United States to comprise a large, single radio telescope. The dish is 82 feet in diameter and weighs 260 tons. Installed by the National Science Foundation, the dish will scan the universe and share data with the other nine telescopes via the Internet. Guards act as unofficial tour guides.
