3. Commissariat House

This Georgian house was completed in 1821 and has since been declared a provincial historic site. Originally constructed as offices and living quarters for the soldiers of Fort William and other military installations, it has also been used as a rectory, nursing home and children's hospital. Today, the house is restored to its circa-1830 appearance, complete with fine china, beautiful paintings and lavish furnishings.   (© 10Best)
