6. Memorial University Botanical Gardens

You'll find 100 acres of natural and cultivated gardens at this lovely spot that's been open to the public for over 30 years. Theme gardens include a rock garden, cottage garden, peat beds and heather plantings. Hiking trails wind through the habitats represented, including a fen, bog and boreal forest. Make a special note to the visit the Newfoundland Heritage Garden, which features native perennial flowers.   (© 10Best)
