19. Lafayette Square House & Garden Tour

The Buzz -- 40th Annual Lafayette Square House & Garden Tour themed the "Ruby Jubilee" features 10 Victorian-era architectural jewels and 10 gardens for self-guided walking tour in St. Louis' oldest Historic District. Free carriage rides around the oldest park west of the Mississippi, outdoor antique booths, Vintage Base Ball Games, free Saturday evening concert in Lafayette Park. Open during the tour will be a collection of courtyards, conservatories, century old spaces telling the individual stories of "no place like home in Lafayette Square". Visitors receive tour books and maps. All homes are within walking distance of one another, but free trolly rides will also be available. In Lafayette Square the old lives in harmony with the new, real urban charm, a sociable, walkable place, a livable community.
