PIGEON ISLAND. The Pigeon Island Interpretive Centre is located at Fort Rodney in a building that was once the officer's mess. Multimedia displays and ancient artifacts teach about the island's ecology and history from the Carib Indian settlers, through French and British colonization, until today. The highlight of the museum is the "Battle of the Saints" when in 1782 Admiral Rodney defeated Admiral De Grasse and ended French rule in the Caribbean. The Fort Rodney barracks, fortifications, and garrisons may be toured as well. (© 10Best) More Details for Pigeon Island National ParkHours: Daily 9am-5pm Type: Parks |
