SOUFRIÈRE.   If you are near the Soufrière waterfront and hunger strikes, you are in luck! Anse Chastanet is located in the hotel of the same name and offers excellent West Indian cuisine. Try the Caribbean rotis, which are wraps filled with curried meat and vegetables, or the pork, beef or lamb pepperpot. In either case, go heavy on the savory mango chutney – it is homemade. Anse Chastanet has gone far beyond serving West Indian cuisine these days. The same beach restaurant which serves Caribbean fare during the day time transforms at night, serving an eclectic St.Lucia - East Indian menu which is considered some of the best food on island. There also is their gourmet restaurant on the hillside with a michelin star chef serving amazing food... the menu changes all the time, focusing on the fresh produce of the day.
