4. Coal Pot

CASTRIES.   For almost 40 years the Coal Pot has provided superb dining in a romantic ambiance. The wood and stone structure has open sides so you can view the stars above and enjoy the lapping of Vigie Marina's waters against the coral beach. The cuisine combines the best of France and the Caribbean. Start with the wonderful pumpkin soup or Coquilles St. Jacques. The chef is best known for his sauces including ginger, coconut-curry, and wild mushroom. These are served with fresh fish, duck, or lamb. Fine wines are available to complement your meal. We consider this restaurant to be the best we have been to on the island. The food is always excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly. This restaurant is consistently good and a place that we feel proud to take all our visitors to.
