DOWNTOWN. The Alexander Ramsey House was home to the first governor of Minnesota and is one of the nation’s best preserved Victorian houses. Construction began in 1868, and the house featured modern amenities such as hot and cold water that weren’t yet common in St. Paul. Activities at this house include guided tours and events around Christmas focused on the decorations and the household cook. This Saint Paul museum is run by the Minnesota Historical Society.
