6. Minnesota Zoo

APPLE VALLEY.   No St. Paul vacation is complete without a trip to the Minnesota Zoo. More than 2,400 animals inhabit 500 acres, and visitors can explore the trails and discover animals like Amur tigers, Mexican gray wolves, gibbons, dolphins and Asian wild horses. A walk along the Minnesota Trail presents species native to the state, like gray wolves, otters, beavers, lynx and coyotes. This Apple Valley zoo is active in conservation, and kids can learn interactively at the Family Farm and Kid’s Discovery Zone.   (© 10Best)

I took a trip to the MN Zoo a few years ago and I had a really good time. I like the hands-on exhibits and the safari trails where you can sit on a train and watch the animals from afar. We were seated and got ready for the dolphin show, however the show was canceled due to the dolphins not complying with the trainers. Overall, my experience there was above average and a great memory.
