The Buzz -- Billed as the "coolest celebration on Earth," this eleven-day winter event is held in late January. From traditional signature events such as snow sculpture displays and parades, to a new blues festival, “Fire On Ice” ice racing championships and a pee wee hockey tournament--there is sure to be something for everyone to enjoy. The Midwest's largest ice carving event is the focal point of Winter Carnival. The outdoor gallery features an amazing array of ice sculptures carefully crafted by regional and national ice artists. Events take place at various locations throughout the city including the Landmark Center and in the Como Lake area. Visitors must purchase a button for a one-time fee of $5 to gain free or reduced admission to most events.
