The Buzz -- Award-winning photographer and outspoken activist Petronella Ytsma is featured in the first exhibition of the season in the Catherine G. Murphy Gallery, Sept. 12 through Oct. 28. The opening reception is Saturday, September 12, 6-8 p.m.
There will be a public symposium for Legacy of an Ecocide: Agent Orange Aftermath on Sunday, September 27, time and location TBD.
Ytsma’s work for years has focused on social justice and ecological issues. Those causes intertwine in
“Legacy of an Ecocide,” a project that she hopes will advance awareness about the human costs of war. The black-and-white photographs document the deformities and maladies suffered by the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the war generation.
