DOWNTOWN.
Great Waters, one of downtown's few brewpubs, offers a laid-back setting ideal for watching the big game or just hanging out with friends. Great Falls brews eight beers on site, and management is dedicated to creating true English-style ales. As a result, the selection of handcrafted beers is impressive, and house specials include ales, bitters, and porters. The pub menu is unpretentious, offering dishes like "Rasta Wings," jerk pork loins, and black-bean chili. During warmer months, the patio is one of the town's livelier places.

USE CAUTION
Was in a group of 14 for dinner. Two of us ordered the "Back Ribs" Upon receiving our meal we found they were in fact spareribs. Called this to waitress attention, she referred us to the manager. The manager said he had been there three years, knew nothing about the cuts of meat and had never received a complaint. He gave us a business card so we could e-mail the owner. Did so and have not received a reply. The backribs currently sale for $4.29 per pound while the spareribs are $ 1.69 per pound. A healthy additional profit by using a bait and switch tactic.
Another in the group had the meatloaf which had a consistancy and taste of a mush.
ORDER CAUTIOUSLY!!!!

Surprisingly good! We stopped in for the convenient location, liked the menu and prices, and were VERY surprised by how good the food and microbrews were. The house special was filet and scampi, and both were prepared very well. Moderate prices for food that's well above average. We never knew the place existed, but we'll be back.

It is a great location in downtown St. Paul. Near the hotels and 1 block from the Xcel Arena. The late nite happy hour was great--just what I needed after a long day.
