Don't waste your time
My husband and I visited the Pier "Aquarium" this past week on our vacation to St. Pete. It was only a $5 admission, and we figured since we wanted to check out the pier area anyway, why not? After entering the area, I can see why it was $5. We had a coupon that made it $4/each, and I still thought that was overpriced for this place, which in my opinion, is a glorified fish tank. There are a few fish tanks around with different types of tropical fish, jellyfish, etc, which are cool to see, but the "hands-on" experience consisted of letting you hold a couple mini sea urchins which were in a tank with sand dollars and shells that weren't even alive anymore. I think it took us about 10 minutes to walk through the whole space. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you have kids/grandkids to take there who are 2-4 years old. I think they're the only ones who would be semi-impressed with this place -- definitely no "wow" factor here. I can't believe they can even call themselves an aquarium.
