A rose by any other name is still a rose... Although its official name is now Bluebeard's Beach, most folks still call it by its original moniker, Limetree Beach. Whatever its name, it ranks among St. Thomas's most beautiful. The ocean side curves around a cove, while the inland side is bordered with lots of tropical foliage, making it a haven for...

Located near the University of the Virgin Islands, this beach is popular with students and locals. Though not a good spot for snorkeling, this beach features a long strip of soft white coral sand, making it a great spot for sunning and shell collecting. This popular beach is known for its clear, calm, warm waters. It is also a destination for snorkeling since brightly colored tropical fish flock to the coral reef just off the beach. Vendors even sell fish food so that you can attract a greater number of fish while you snorkel. Snack shacks and a beach bar offer refreshments, and water sports can...

This secluded beach offers great surfing along its western edge, and shady, tranquil waters on the opposite side. It is a very quiet beach, and local fisherman often drop anchor just off the shore. Though there are no snack vendors, a restaurant and beach bar offers refreshments and live bands on the weekends.

Lindbergh Bay Beach is so picturesque that most folks don't mind the planes that soar overhead on their way to or from the airport. Several hotels and restaurants line the beach, but it remains surprisingly un-crowded most of the time. Calm waters make it an ideal destination for families with younger children.

St Thomas's most popular beach has been named one of the world's most beautiful by many sources. Calm, turquoise waters and a sandy bottom make this spot perfect for swimming and sunning with the family. Though the snorkeling is better at Coki Beach, there are plenty of other entertainment options. Sailboats, kayaks and paddleboats are all...

This family-friendly beach boasts terrific views of St. John and the British Virgin Islands. The adjacent resort rents water sports equipment – this is an excellent area for windsurfing – and there is a beachside dive shop offering scuba and snorkeling accessories. Refreshments are available at several restaurants beachside and at the resort.

Secret Harbour Beach is appropriately named. Not many people make the trip to this secluded area of white sand surrounded by attractive coconut palms. However, the snorkeling is superb, and a beach bar and restaurant serve food and drinks. The best way to get to Secret Harbour Beach is via taxi.
