2. Stamford Symphony Orchestra

Whether it is Beethoven or Bach, this local symphony orchestra graces Stamford with concerts throughout the year. Under the direction of Maestro Preu, the SSO presents a classical orchestra series as well as a chamber music recital at Stamford's Palace Theatre. Exploring the Orchestra family concerts at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center, Mozart & Friends recitals at the Steinway Piano Gallery of Westport, and Pops in the Park concerts at Stamford's Columbus Park, Maestro Preu's innovative approach to programming has earned the Orchestra a reputation as Serious Fun. Guest soloists include Sarah Chang, Vladimir Feltsman, Helen Huang, Andre-Michel Schub, Joyce Yang and others.
