About Idaho
Idaho – Adventures in Living. So the slogan goes. But Idaho is so wild, so rustic, so natural – it goes beyond day-to-day living. It's the ultimate adventure vacation. Any outdoor recreation, sport or pastime you can conceive of is open to you in Idaho, a rugged land that is home to many beautiful sights and experiences. Idaho is a Rocky Mountain state, home to part of Yellowstone National Park as well as about 20 incredible state parks, islands, sand dunes, lakes, rivers and beautiful recreation centers. Hells Canyon is the deepest river canyon in the US, even deeper than the Grand Canyon. Craters on the Moon is a 750,000 acre national monument and volcanic area. You can follow Lewis & Clark's historical trail through Kooskia in the north-central area of the state, or visit Lava Hot Springs, a world famous resort on the site of ancient Indian healing waters. And the Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation area near Kuna has over 250 wildlife species and one of the densest concentrations of nesting birds of prey. Of course, don't forget that Idaho has top-notch Nordic, cross-country, backcountry, and kite- and heli-skiing, as well as snowboarding and tubing, all across the state. When it's time to come in from the cold, Idaho has a lot to offer as well. There's more to Sun Valley than snow, including the Ernest Hemingway Museum, the Blaine County Museum and the Sawtooth Botanical Gardens. Boise is the capital and home to some great cultural centers including the Boise Art Museum, the Idaho Shakespeare festival, the Idaho Anne Frank Human Rights Memorial and the Discovery Center of Idaho. Whatever adventure you seek, Idaho has fascinating sights for you to explore.Local Color
