Medicine Bow – Routt National Forests

Extending from north-central Colorado all the way north to central Wyoming, Medicine Bow – Routt National Forests nearly surround the town of Steamboat Springs. In the summer, recreational opportunities in the forest abound, from hiking, fishing and camping to mountain biking, rock climbing and horseback riding. The roster of winter activities is nearly as long, with snowshoeing, cross country skiing, ice fishing, and snowmobiling topping the list.
