Glynn Vivian, a member of the family who helped make the city the copper capital of the world, bequeathed his art collection to Swansea, thus creating the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery. The museum displays a wide variety of historical and modern-day works of art for all to enjoy. The range of art provided here includes works by renowned Welsh artists, pottery that dates back to the late 18th century, as well as a collection of oriental ceramics. Works by artists including Hepworth, Nicholson, Nash, Ceri Richards, Gwen John and Augustus John are displayed. Informational seminars and workshops are also available to help the art novice learn more about this fascinating world. The gallery is funded by the Arts Council of Wales but donations are welcomed.   (© 10Best)
