This busy city center square was a component of a defensive knoll during the Norman period and was bombarded by the Germans in World War II. Today, the area is a key point of the city center, housing numerous shops, restaurants and pubs. The square has been landscaped with trees, hanging flower baskets, and benches for pedestrians to relax and take in the scenery. The plaques placed around the square were created by school children, and they tell the eventful history of Swansea. The square hosts lively events throughout the year, including fairs, markets and open-air concerts. (© 10Best) More Details for Castle SquareHours: 24 hours. Admission: Free Type: Sightseeing |
