Although refurbished, this establishment, which dates back to the 18th century, maintains its authentic appeal. It was once a favorite of renowned poet Dylan Thomas, and he even refers to it in one of his popular short stories. The interior is pub-typical, consisting largely of dark wood detailing, and the inviting crowd is generally above the age of 30. Pub fare includes an array of tapas, soups, and other delicious, homemade classics. Great beers and wines; live music on Thursday and Sunday evenings.

On a street full of chains offering you boil in a bag sunday lunch the no sign bar is a gem amongst them. From the front the independent bar is easy to miss but once your inside you know you're in for a treat. The smell of home-cooked sunday roast, "just like your mum makes" wafts through the building. I went with 3 friends and we all had the carvery, there was a selection of 3 meats, i had lamb with all the trimmings, it was beautiful. If you've had a heavy saturday night out and are looking for somewhere to recover with a good plate of grub, the no sign bar is just the ticket.

On a very quiet Monday lunchtime I amongst a party of four had to wait over an hour for our starter. When it arrived the waitress apologized for the delay and told us they were busy (we only saw a few other diners). When the main course finally arrived my steak which I had ordered as medium to well was well done and my daughters steak which was ordered as medium to rare was very rare. I brought my steak to the waitress attention and she did indeed offer me something else. We had been in the restaurant for over an hour and half by this point and explained that we really didn't have time to wait for anything else. The rest of the meal apart from the steaks was delicious. I tried to eat my steak, but only ate approx 1/4 of it. To the defense of the waitress she did take 2 round of drinks off the bill (6 diet cokes and an orange juice) for the inconvenience but I was charged for the steak which I couldn't eat. So I wouldn’t recommend this for a lunch time meal.
