4. Bronte Beach

Surfers, grab your boards! This beach has great waves, although if you're not looking to surf, there's still plenty to do. The beach entices families with its excellent playground, weekend model train rides, covered picnic sheds, gas grills, and large grassy areas. The saltwater pool at the southern end of the beach was built in 1887 and is still popular with sunbathers. Cafes across the street proffer satisfying snack foods and drinks.
