INNER CITY.
With only a stainless steel bar and four tables inside, this popular seafood restaurant usually has a wait list for seating. While they wait, customers often hang out in the pub next door until their tables are ready. The menu changes daily, depending on what's fresh and available – typcial dishes include steamed mussels and prawn and fish dumplings. However, beer-battered flathead and chips maintain a faithful following as well. The place attracts young and trendy professionals. TRAIN: Central station, BUS: 301-304 along Crown Street.

Mohr Fish would have to be the best food and the best value for money in all of New South Wales. The Chef is a genius and his dishes are sublime... just eat the wontons... they are like manna from heaven. We know the chef from his Melbourne background and his cooking is just superb.

Mohr Fish certainly has Mohr to it than meets the eye! The canteen-style eatery is deceptively enjoyable (although very small and crammed). The food outshines the fact that there is little room to maneuver, but it all adds to the experience and makes for a great night out. We celebrated a friend’s birthday there - with huge helpings of Calamari, Rudderfish with a delicious mango salsa, Thai fish cakes to kill for and heaps of chips cooked to perfection! I am going back ASAP and I recommend it to anyone over the typical choice of fish restaurants in Sydney…and it all comes cheap! Go now.... (Did I mention that the staff are also friendly and helpful??)
