PYRMONT. An absolute must – over 100 species of fish are hauled in here straight off the boats into the auction rooms. An often packed mall of around 17 retailers, mainly seafood cafes, offers an eye-boggling and very reasonably priced selection of fresh seafood and prepared 'platters' – from bog standard fish and chips, to oysters (a dozen for $12), lobster, abalone, Moreton Bay bugs (local delicacy, like lobster) and a flapping array of fresh fish. Seating indoors or outside on the jetty - a great place for kids and families. Hours vary, but most open at 7am and close around 4:30pm; most take credit cards. BUS 443 from Queen Victoria Building, next to Town Hall Station to Harris Street, Pyrmont, or METRO LIGHT RAIL from Central Station, Haymarket or Darling Harbour to the Fish Market stop.
