8. Strand Hatters

I can't praise Strand Hatters highly enough. Both visiting and buying from overseas has been a great experience. The staff are friendly and fun to deal with, generous and helpful, they are experts in the subject. On a visit to Sydney both my wife and I bought hats. The service was personal and interested. They took time to care for the hats and made sure everything was just right. It was a lot of fun, too. They're not at all a 'pile em high' shop like some in Sydney. Also I bought a special order Akubra via email and phone call. Robert, the shop Manager, was absolutely right in his estimate of how long the job would take so set my expectations correctly. He clearly took a pride in getting the hat to me. I am impressed and pleased with the result. The shop itself is great, in one of the best locations in Sydney. I'm looking forward to our next visit.
