DOWNTOWN. The wine and beer list at this cozy pub is rivaled only by the choice of mouth-watering sandwiches and gourmet salads. More than 60 beers are always on tap including micro-brewed American lagers and a variety of Belgian brews. Each champagne and wine is available by the glass, carafe or bottle. You won't want to stop with liquid refreshment. The grilled cheddar and havarti, and the grilled fresh mozzarella with Italian vegetables, each provide a sophisticated option to grilled cheese.

TIPPERARY. Prohibition was repealed in 1933 and Coleman's opened for business shortly after. Today Coleman's is a central New York destination for it's hearty and authentic Irish pub grub. Sample the Guinness beef stew or the Irish roasted chicken, followed by a slice of Bailey's Irish Cream cheesecake. Thursday through Saturday evenings, Coleman's keeps diners in their seats once the meal is over by staging live Celtic rock and Irish folk singers.

Favorite "palate igniters" include the fried green tomatoes and the catfish strips. Lunchtime entrees include a pulled-pork sandwich platter served with macaroni salad and tomato and cucumber salad, while dinner diners tend to favor the pit-roasted chicken and ribs, served with your choice of two sides. The Dinosaur hosts live blues several nights a week—call ahead to find out who is performing and come prepared to have a few beers and enjoy the raucous atmosphere.
