The Buzz -- The Truckee Tahoe Community Chorus at Sierra College, now in its seventh season, will present two holiday concerts: December 6th at Truckee High School Theater, and December 7th at the Resort at Squaw Creek, Squaw Valley. The featured choral composition is the Gloria, by the noted contemporary English composer John Rutter. This work, conducted by Susan K. Horst, features brass, organ and percussion. Other contemporary composers included on the program are Morton Lauridsen and Eric Whitacre. The balance of the program features an entertaining line-up of holiday pieces. Another program highlight will be to invite the audience to join the chorus in singing traditional carols. The chorus is directed by co-conductors Susan K. Horst and Chris Nelson. The Community Chorus is pleased to share the festive holiday spirit with the community. The 60 member chorus is sponsored by Sierra College, Truckee. Concerts are co-sponsored by Squaw Valley Institute and the Resort at Squaw Creek. Advance tickets may be purchased at "Sassafras" women's botique in the Safeway Shopping Center, Truckee.
