DOWNTOWN. The historic home where this Tallahassee museum resides was called “The House that Rhymes” because of the writings of poet and former resident, Luella Knott, in the 1930s. The Knott House was built as a home in 1843 and later reopened as a museum in 1992. Offering the opportunity to read through Mrs. Knott's imaginative poems and even stand on the same steps where the Emancipation Proclamation was read, this is certainly one of the most interesting tours in Tallahassee.
