Held in downtown Monticello each June, this festival celebrates that favorite summertime treat, the watermelon. A multitude of activities – a 5K run, a parade, a rodeo and lots of music and street dancing – adds to the fun. You'll also find plenty of barbecue and other refreshments. Most events are free.

Swine Time is held across the state line in Georgia, a short trek. In the month of November, this unusual event celebrates the pig. Festivities include a parade as well as a hog show. Your day is not complete until you've witnessed the greasy pig chase! Everyone is invited to come on out for a "squealing" good time!
