HYDE PARK.   Head Chef Marty Blitz makes magic happen in her old Lafayette Bank restaurant, Mise en Place. Tampa cuisine here includes grilled Scottish salmon and filet of beef tenderloin, and an extensive wine menu allows for near-perfect pairing. Hues of chocolate and gold set the tone for sumptuous Tampa dining, and provide the perfect atmosphere for savoring new, imaginative flavors. This Hyde Park restaurant features delectable smaller items as well, like the artisanal cheese plate with goat, blue and cheddar cheese, and the Mise en Place tasting menu.   (© 10Best)

Went with a group of 4 and we all ordered the chef tasting menu with wine pairing. First course was a plate of 4 lobster broquets with a creamy spicy sauce - they came out cold when they should have been hot (temperature wise). My sisters wine glasses had lipstick smears on 3 of them where she had to request another glass. Main course was a pork loin, which was hilarious because 3 of them all looked the same (about 2 inches thick, brown and juicy) - then when he gave me my plate it was a flatten, light brown pork loin you could buy in the grocery store. When I mentioned it to the server he just walked off without explaining. I can't believe this is a top rated restaurant in Tampa because the service was terrible, it was like we were really bothering the server and the food is NOT that great. Dessert was as if they just flopped a king dong on your plate and spread some rasberry sauce around it. If you want a good chef tasting with wine pairing and are in Cincinnati, Ohio - go to BOCA. The Mise En Place is extremely overrated and you'll leave very disappointed and with less money in your pocket that isn't worth it.
