Great dining experience, great food, and friendly staff. Great environment for a couple or for the whole family. Our family has been here for dinner twice, and sometimes just come for dessert, which is it's own experience. Dessert is served upstairs in individual dessert rooms, and a live person plays the piano in one section. The dessert menu is literally a 20-something page book full of desserts and dessert drinks. Whenever we have company from out of town, we love to bring them here for dessert at the very least.

This restaurant is an experience. It's been a year or so since I visited (because of the expense). Book far in advance and expect to spend your entire evening there. The decor is interesting (like a tacky bordello) and some rooms are brighter than others - in some you practically need a flashlight to see the menu. Make sure to arrange a tour of the kitchen and wine cellar. The evening is not complete without a trip to the dessert room (yes, dessert is served in a separate section of the restaurant). The escargot and the caviar are the best appetizers. The onion soup is delicious. The steaks are good - but, for me, not the main attraction. The food is good, but the experience is what you go for.

My friend and I flew down from New York and wanted to go to a Tampa steakhouse. We originally were going to visit Bern's, but almost opted out because of mediocre online reviews. We are both thrilled that we went. We had the large porterhouse (for two). It came with free appetizers: a small onion soup with perfectly melted cheese, a nice mixed veggie salad with house-made dressings (the ceasar was the best we've ever had and the bleu cheese was real). The steak was amazing. The char was not too salty, allowing the flavor of the beef to come through. But skip the veggies that come on the plate; they take away from the experience. Our waiter -- who declined to be named when I told him I wanted to review the restaurant online -- was much friendlier than any waiters in New York steakhouses, and he told us that he's been working at Bern's over 30 years. All in all, if we ever came back to Tampa, our first stop would be Bern's. (FYI...skip the valet and park across the street.)

Food was very good service could have been better, but overall it was a nice experience until I was given the bill. I was pointed out by the server that his tip was not part of the automatic service charge. Why is it on there then? He finally told me it went to his hourly wage. Isn't that a tip if the customer is paying for it? Very disnhonest place if they have to put a hidden "house charge", and then expect you to put a normal tip on top of it. They really need to change that practice because it is extremely offensive and misleading!!!

Unbeatable at any price. Bern's holds back nothing and delivers a wonderful experience, time and time again. First timers will be in awe ... Of course you'll want to sit in the Rhone room. They have over 7000 different wines with a total bottle count nearing 500,000 ... I have been to Berns 20+ times, at least, and never left feeling anything less than impressed every time.

We sat in the "hidden" room in the back of the restaurant. Which was very neat, except for the LOUD and obnoxious group of six sitting next to us. We couldn't even carry on a conversation with each other due to the volume of our "neighbors". You wouldn't expect that from such an up-scale restaurant.

My experience with Bern's Steak House spans 35 years. I have never been disappointed any way at any time. You never feel rushed to eat and get out, and the waiters always make certain that everything is done to perfection. Whenever anyone tells me they are going to Florida, I always tell them not to miss Bern's. Absolutely the best anywhere.

The ambiance at Bern's is a joke...Our server was snotty and made us feel like we didn't know how to act in a restaurant. I have been in F&B for 20 years, and this is one of the worst experiences I have ever had.

Amazing restaurant. I've always heard about legendary Bern's, thus I was pleasantly surprised to experience in person that Bern's met and surpassed all the hype. Actually, when you dine at Bern's, its more of an evening than it is a meal (our meal including the "dessert room" lasted 4 hours.) Throw in the fact that they have the largest wine selection in the world, and you have one special place. I would recommend Bern's to anyone.

My Wife and I had dinner for our Anniversary here and we were greatly disappointed in what we experienced. The table we sat in was in the middle of the room, noisy, and the waitress was very rude, and snobby acting....

The service is terrible, but this is one of their selling points. Waiters supposedly train for 1 year. They need more training. Since the service sucks, it is no wonder why Bern's adds the gratuity on the bill automatically. you have no ability to change this!! The steak had "ABSOLUTLY" no flavor. I was thinking about asking for some A1 to improve the steak. If you are in the Tampa area, take the extra time & drive to Orlando & go to Emeril's for EXCELLENT FOOD & SERVICE…STAY AWAY FROM BERN'S IT IS OVER PRICEDC FOR THE SERVICE & FOOD.
