When it comes to merchandise, Tampa offers a pleasing combination of local specialty shops and national retailers. For fun, pedestrian shopping in a historic neighborhood, travelers head to Ybor City, where cigars – once manufactured in the district – are the signature souvenir. Centro Ybor, home to a handful of national retailers, restaurants and a movie theater, is also located nearby. Tampa also boasts several attractive malls and modern, open-air shopping centers. An assortment of high-end chains occupies old storefronts in the pedestrian-friendly Old Hyde Park Village, and South Howard Avenue "SoHo" is lined with quaint shops and galleries. But for the city's premier selection of brands, International Plaza – housing Tiffany and Co., Apple, bebe, Burberry and Neiman Marcus – is the place to be.
