Starting just a few days after the Sprint Cup Series, the Nationwide Series has its opening race on February 14 at the Daytona International Speedway, and wraps up on November 21st at the Homestead- Miami Speedway. The Nationwide Series has a 10 month racing schedule that is just a few races shorter than the Sprint Cup Series. 2008 was the official debut of NASCAR’s Car of Tomorrow, which was designed to be safer for drivers, more competitive and less costly to build. Already stirring up controversy on whether it enables or inhibits the competiveness of NASCAR racing, NASCAR’s Car of Tomorrow will be on full display during the 2009 racing season. The NASCAR Nationwide Series falls second to the Sprint Cup Series in popularity, but is no less exciting. Last year’s champion, Carl Edwards will be back again to challenge his top competitors to race for the coveted 1st place title once again.
