The 2009 Sprint Cup Series begins its 61st season on February 7 at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida, with the season concluding on November 22 at the Homestead- Miami Speedway in Florida. The Sprint Cup Series is racing’s most popular and highest level of professional competition. Fans can watch as the NASCAR drivers fight to earn points over the span of 10 months and 36 races. With over $4 million at stake for each race, the adrenaline NASCAR drivers experience is felt throughout the expansive stadiums. NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson has won the last three consecutive Sprint Cup Series’, a title that is only shared by one other NASCAR driver, Carl Yarborough. Johnson is coming back this year seeking to make a new record.
