The Buzz -- The Great Maumee River Dragon Boat Festival is the premier paddling event on the Maumee River. Dozens of teams raise money to support the programs of Partners in Education of Toledo. Dragon boats are 40 feet long, Hong Kong style canoes complete with dragon head and tail. 21 crew members can be seen powering their boats to the beat of their team drummer for the 500 meter course. In addtion to the races, families and spectators will enjoy live music, food, performers and children's activites. |
