Toronto is a year round destination. At least one major public event is scheduled every month, although there may be as many as six or seven during the warmer months. Film festivals are popular – the city hosts several, from the relatively small Toronto After Dark festival to the massive Toronto International Film Festival. Theater and music festivals are numerous as well. And there are more esoteric celebrations to experience – Woofstock, for example, or the Festival of Beer, the Word on the Street book festival, and the Lunar New Year celebration in Chinatown. -- Joseph K.
