37. Cantores Celestes Celebrates 20 Years! A Baroque Festival & 20th Century Gems

The Buzz -- Cantores Celestes Women's Choir and Director Kelly Galbraith celebrate their 20th Anniversary on Saturday April 18, 2009 8:00 pm by presenting 'A Baroque Festival' - an evening of celebration with Venetian Baroque and contemporary music. Cantores Celestes will present a Canadian premiere of Francesco Brusa's 'Missa pro defunctis', a work written for the Venetian Ospedali 250 years ago. Pianist Ellen Meyer, organist William O'Meara and the Emperor String Quartet will join Cantores Celestes. A $1,000 donation will be made to The Floyd Honey Foundation "Walking Home" which helps the homeless.
