5. K & K Tropical Fruit

DOWNTOWN.   Need a durian? Usually, the king of stinky, spiky fruits is difficult if not impossible to find outside of Southeast Asia and other tropical climates. But if you happen to be in Toronto, you’re in luck because K & K has them. They also have an astounding variety of other tropical fruits that many of us have never heard of, let alone tasted, like rambutans, milk apples, and sweet sops. More familiar items are abundant here as well, including papayas, coconuts, mangos, lychees, persimmons, and tamarinds (and yes, apples, oranges and bananas, too).
