2. All the Best Fine Foods

MIDTOWN.   [Renovations of the original location are happening through spring, 2010; some portions are open, but a temporary location is also at the Pavilion at 5 Scrivener Square.] All the Best claims to specialize in cheese, and indeed, they do stock a fine selection from around the world. But they offer much, much more. Shelves are lined with all manner of gourmet goodies: olive oils, condiments, spices, pickled vegetables of every variety, plus cookbooks and gift baskets. They feature a changing menu of freshly baked breads, pastries, and desserts, and fantastic prepared foods that are ideal when time is short and you still want a good hot meal – suggested menus help you plan and everything is available right at the store. Weekly cheese tastings are always popular.
