The Buzz -- The Arizona Media Arts Center is pleased to announce that the 18th Arizona International Film Festival will take place April 16-26, 2009 at exhibition venues throughout Tucson and Southern Arizona. The longest running and largest Festival in Arizona will continue its mission to provide audiences with new and innovative films from around the world. The Festival theme of Bridging Cultures provides a way for contemporary independent cinema to share images and voices of diverse cultures with Arizona communities. Festival 2008 screened 94 films from 15 countries to over 5,000 patrons of all ages, and featured 6 world premieres, 14 U.S. premieres and 57 Arizona premieres with 65 producers attending their screenings. |
