The Harwelden Mansion was completed in 1926 as a lovely four-story, thirty-room home for the Harwell family. The interior decor reflects the family's coat of arms, and the exterior decor features Indiana limestone, limestone gargoyles and a gold fishpond. The Harwell family gave a great deal of support to both the University of Tulsa and the Tulsa Boys' Home. Today, the Arts and Humanities Council uses the home for events. It can also be rented out for sophisticated private events. The public can visit during normal business hours.
