NEW YORK MILLS. If you guessed that this place is all about seafood, you'd be right! Pastas, salads, and appetizers all feature fish and shellfish, and all are unfailingly good. Steamed clams are a wonderful introduction, and so are sweet potato fries. Follow them with charbroiled salmon, lobster tails, pan-seared tuna, beer-battered haddock, or fried scallops. Lest landlubbers be distressed, let them know that steaks and chicken can be had, both in sandwiches and dinners. Vegetarian fare and children's options are available too.

NEW HARTFORD. Even though its name alludes to a wealth of ocean fare, Hook, Line & Sinker offers diners who are not enamored of fish something good too. Baked clams casino gain a touch of smokiness from bacon, and shrimp cocktail features plump, beautifully chilled morsels. Broiled lobster tail, fresh haddock, and deep-fried scallops also showcase the kitchen's skills. If you're in the mood for other items, look to their well-regarded salads, steaks, prime rib, and pastas. Lounge available.
