In its original form, the Greater Vancouver Zoo was a privately owned enterprise called the Vancouver Game Farm, which opened in 1970. Today, this world-class zoo exhibits an assortment of animals, from big cats and bears to moose and macaws, pythons and peacocks to spider monkeys and snapping turtles. Highlights of a visit will include a ride on the Safari Express miniature train or a narrated tour on the North American Wilds Safari Bus, and lion and tiger feedings (May-Oct Daily 1pm).
