Located in a century old country house in historic Ladner, this romantic restaurant is a masterpiece of French cuisine. The changing menu may feature duckling in blueberry sauce, a popular choice, along with the milk-fed veal and rack of lamb. The ample wine list features bottles from the Pacific Northwest, as well as a selection of international wines.

This was my first experience dining at La Belle Auberge and I was truly impressed. Upon first sitting down in the dining room I was a bit surprised at the ambience. It seemed very old fashioned and somewhat stuffy. However, the service was quite warm and attentive without being overbearing and I soon warmed up to the classical music and European decor. As the first course of the table d'hote menu arrived it became apparent we were in for some very refined yet fully flavored food. It is hard to believe that this level of cuisine is available in a small town like Ladner. Do yourself a flavor; down-shift your busy lifestyle and enjoy a leisurely evening at this hidden gem.
