The food is not eatable! I have not had a meal like this since I tried to eat in Prince George at 4 in the morning.

Rude and Horrible
They used to be really good here, but over the years the owners have become complascent, and so has the staff. The food has really gone downhill, which is sad as I used to eat here once a week. Cook can't cook an egg, had to return my Benny twice, and then listen to the cook bellow from the kitchen about me. I complained to the server, who told the owner, WHO DID NOTHING! Can you imagine! He didn't even come to our table to address the situation, or to even try to make things okay. I was livid. Third strike: you're out. I've given the Blethering Place all the chances and the cash I'm willing to give them.

We had heard this was the place to go for tea. What a major disappointment. Service was horrid - the wauitress could barely give us the time of day. Food was mediocre at best and we did not get everything we were supposed to with our tea but couldn't find server to complain.

This is a lovely little tearoom in the heart of Oak Bay with great ambience and service. The food is wonderful if you stick to the traditional English fare. We actually had Thanksgiving dinner here (which was fantastic) as well as afternoon tea on many occassions. A quick note...order the "tea biscuits" instead of the scones. They are tender and delicious and taste great with the homemade preserves and devonshire cream (the scones tend to be very large and dryer). The soups are very good here as well and the fish & chips are some of the best in Victoria.

I was ashamed to bring out of town guests to the Blethering Place on Jan. 2. The owner and his manager sat and chatted while people waited to be seated. The service was extremely slow (lady next to me left and said she couldn't believe such bad service existed). The food was below par - a lemon tart needed a knife to cut through the thick tough pastry. I live in the area and have seen this establishment sliding down, food, service and cleanliness.

Was not very impressive; food was minimal and not true English! Probably would not return.
