3. Heeresgeschichtliches Museum (Military History Museum)

3RD DISTRICT.   The Military History Museum is situated in the Arsenal, a military complex that resembles a medieval-style fortress. Displays and exhibits are arranged in chronological order and feature historic weapons, artillery, armor, campaign maps, flags, standards, paintings of battle scenes, sculptures of the empire's famous generals, and scale models of important ships. A key display features the car in which Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated, the event that provoked the crisis that resulted in World War I.   (© 10Best)
