6. Maria am Gestade

1ST DISTRICT.   This Gothic church, known as Our Lady on the Steps, is associated with the Czech community in Vienna. The tall, narrow façade displays 15th-century sculptures of St. John the Baptist and St. John the Evangelist. The seven-sided tower features a magnificent spire, which is an example of intricately crafted openwork. Impressive stained-glass windows highlight the interior.   (© 10Best)
