14TH DISTRICT. Otto Wagner designed St. Leopold's Church, an impressive piece of Jugendstil architecture, during his Secessionist period of the early 20th century. It is located in the west suburbs on the grounds of the Vienna City Psychiatric Hospital. The Carrara marble-clad exterior lies on top of simple brick construction, and copper tiles cover the enormous dome. The interior features two beautiful stained-glass windows: one based on the theme of mercy and another a portrayal of "Dante's Paradise Lost."
