4. Demel Konditorei

1ST DISTRICT.   Demel is as much a delight to the eye as to the taste buds. It retained its title of "Imperial and Royal Court Confectionary Bakery" even just after the collapse of the monarchy when it was officially forbidden to do so. Take a look at the ornately designed window displays, a tradition began in 1965 by Baron Federico von Berzeviczy-Pallavicin, a student of the "Wiener Werkstaetten," who had taken over as manager.
