Established in 1791, this Virginia Beach sightseeing icon is the nation's oldest lighthouse built by the government. In operation for almost a century, the Cape Henry Lighthouse has been restored after being damaged during the Civil War, and it now offers spectacular views of the surrounding area, where English settlers first landed in 1607. Tours of this Virginia Beach lighthouse are available, and there is a gift shop on site.
